My friend is married to a girl that has been extremely controlling throughout the marriage. She did away with his friends until I was the only one left. She told him to quit his job and not to work and basically made him a kept man. She has cheated twice (that he knows of) and he forgave her. Currently, he's living with her at her parents house. He is working an apprenticeship job that pays barely above minimum wage earning commission. She has said that she doesn't want to be with him no longer and wants a divorce. She's going out every night w/ different guys leaving him alone at home. He has a credit score that is DIRT poor, gets little money from his job, no transportation (except for his wife), and nobody he knows in his area that can help him. (I would, but i'm in the Navy). He's tired of being hurt and wants to get away from her, but he's stuck (parents wont let him back in). She's threatening to kick him out on the street. What should he do?

He's trying to take responsibility...that's the reason why he got the job

you are a very good friend.....Though he has to stand up to her and tell her ..HE HAD ENOUGH...and if she doesn't stop what she is doing ... ......he is the one who is leaving .....he has to confront her firmly....this is not right...no person should have to live like this ...his wife will regret later what she has done after he leaves her... even if he leaves for a while...........till his wife gets her act together.........all the best....

you ppl are missing the point. (i'm the friend by the way)

I have stood up to her and told her I was going to leave her, however, I have no way to go anywhere, and nowhere to go.

She is just calling my bluff and telling me that I can get out and live on the street in a cardboard box.

The question is , HOW CAN I LEAVE HER?

besides the military, I currently have a job that pays little to nothing , however, it is an apprenticeship, and a year from now I will be making a nice living. (so in a way it's kinda like the military)

I feel for your friend. His wife is a bit*h for doing all this to him. He really should not have given up his other job though. Seems she really did a job on him. He needs to find himself another job real quick so he can get the hell out of there. Doesn't he have anyone he could stay with until he gets on his feet? A friend or relative, other than his parents? He just needs to tell her that she did this too him so she is going to have to put up with him until he can get on his feet if he has no where else to go. This is sad, really sad. I'm really sorry for your friend.

What should he do? Grow up and take responsibility for his own life would be a good place to start.
