pretty much everyone has no appetite when they are sick, especially with colds b/c you can't taste your food b/c your sinuses are blocked

as long as he is drinking- wouldn't worry too much about him not wanting to eat. try giving him liquid stuff like soups and oatmeal-his throat might be sore from the cold and it's making him uncomfortable when he eats-soft stuff works best.

he should bounce back within a day or two now that the fever has passed. make sure he continues to drink-little ones can get dehydrated quickly.

signs of dehydration are:
-inside of mouth is dry
-no tears when crying
-he becomes lethargic, wants to sleep all the time
-fever suddenly returns
-no urine output for more than 4 hours
-vomiting

if he starts to show any of these symptoms-get him in to see the dr asap-he might need i.v fluids

good luck to you and i hope your son feels better soon

It's pretty typical for anyone with a cold and fever. Just make sure he eats at least a little a few times a day, and make sure he drinks plenty so he doesn't get dehydrated. Hope he feels better soon.

Yes, completely normal.

You don't like to eat when you have a cold and are all stuffed up, do you? Neither does he!

Keep the fluids up. If you're nursing him at all, try to increase it. Otherwise, some Pedialyte, or other solution suggested by your pediatrician.

Oh... and you could try chicken soup. If he's willing to drink, he might be willing to drink soup. (Worth a try, anyway.)

Here's hoping your little guy feels better soon!

If he is sick - especially with a fever- for more than three days, call his doctor and find out if he wants you to bring him in.
Most children, like adults, will loose thier appitite when they are sick. They cant taste very well or swallow.
Try lots of clear liquids, like pedilite, gatoraide, chicken broth, and talk to his Doctor.

Yes that is normal all he really needs to do is drink so he will not dehydrate. Try some clear chicken broth or jello.

Very common. Don't worry. He needs the extra fluids right now, and he will eat again when he feels hungry.

Drinking is good, but you should go to the doctor ASAP. AS
SOON AS POSSIBLE. NOW. Don't believe the other posts. He is two and a doctor will notice more than you.

yes, don;t worry....when my two year old had pnuemonia she didn;t eat for days, but drank, she lost some weight, but as long as fluids are making their way in, he will get his appetite back.
