You bet, you are right on all your points and it even has a name, it is called supply side economics and is tried by every repuglican president. It has never worked and has always resulted in a recession.

When was the last time you saw someone making under 30k a year hire people and create wealth and jobs?
The answer to your questions is
Republicans do not only care about the rich. They care about everyone, it takes tax dollars to fund the social programs and the best way to increase the tax dollars is by giving tax breaks to the people that can create jobs and spur consumer spending. Ask yourself this, If you make 30k a year ( safe number as many make this) and you get a 5% tax cut (that was about the cross board cut on all tax brackets) that is how much? (1500 in case you do not have a calc ready.) Now how many jobs do you think you can create with $1500 in savings?
Lets look at a rich guy (which one day I will be) that makes 1 million dollars. OK he got the same 5% tax cut to his tax bracket which means he recieved how much? (Yes it is 50k) Now I know this is a larger number but this person that is making 1 million dollars is also being taxed at 36% or 360k taken out of his gross income, meanwhile the 30k person (if single if married and 2 childrens they will be getting about 4k back in EIC) is being taxed at 15% or 4500 dollars. Now the tax cut goes through and they get their savings. The 30k a year person taxes go to 3000$ meaning anything above this amount is returned by the Government in the form of a Tax credit. The person making 1 million dollars and paying 360k in taxes would have their taxes cut to 310k. Meaning that they would have to pay over that to get any refund from the Government.
Now our government knows that those with that kinda money are the ones that create businesses and hire people. So they make it easier for them to do so. You see if that person takes that 50k tax cut, gets a few more investors and builds a factory or an advertising firm. They begin to hire more people that make money and more taxes flow into the government. That Business also pays more taxes than previous. This does not include the benifits to the state, city/townships where the company resides and the people get jobs.
All those new tax dollars then pours into the system and we get a nice little influx of dollars to help fund the programs that help the poor. Which by the way I am consdered one being with a wife and two kids and a sole provider.

The republican party has over time supported the idea that Big business is good because they can put people to work. The money then trickles down to all the workers. The Democrats believe that it is better to support the working man (poor). If all the poor are working then things will get better. The real problem is not the Republicans or the Democrats, it is the bureaucracy that is created by a huge centrall Gov't that can't controll spending. Fighting unnecessary wars, pork barrel projects, etc. You must remember they are all politicians and unless we voice our opinion to them their vote will not change!

Republicans do not believe in big government the bigger the government the more you pay in taxes, that is what the Dem's want bigger government all kind of social programs that you pay for out of your hard earned money, the Dem's love putting their hand in your pockets. The more entitlement programs the government has the more free loaders that don't want to work, they want to stay home and collect a government check, is that what you want to pay for. And where do you think the government gets it's money , it doesn't grow on trees. They can say they are against abortion because it is murder, they are killing full grown babies in the womb, and they have shown babies trying to get away from the instruments they use to kill them with, it is barbaric, if women would keep their legs crossed they wouldn't have to worry about getting pregnant, their is no excuse for women to be pregnant with all the birth control they have now, if they get pregnant it's their fault. This Nation has embraced murder of babies over 20 million a year, it's disgusting. And the same thing happens with Democrats, they get big contributions also and they have to give back to their contributors, and give them what they want. Don't you think the rich Democrats also use the same loop holes to get out of paying taxes as other rich people, well they do, so if they want more taxes to pay for social programs why don't they quiet using those loop holes. that will be a cold day in hell when that happends. The Democrats want to spend your money not theirs.

Questions like yours are the reason that I am a Democrat! There are so many, many hypocrisies in Reps. thinking. They are all for moms staying at home to raise the children, but continually affect the enconomy in such a way that such a thing would be impossible--even in a two-parent family. In a single-mother family it's even worse. The mother cannot receive any aid unless she works--from the time the child is a few months old--but then the child has to be placed in some sort of babysitting or daycare arrangement, oftentimes with strangers. Then the caregivers are paid minimum wage for one of the most important jobs that anyone can have--raising a child!
Major oil companies???Things that make you go "hmmmm?". Funny how Reps./oil companies/Haliburton/Cheney/the bin Laden family/ the Saudis/9/11 are all connected, isn't it?
And, speaking of oil, did it ever occur to you that maybe the price of gasoline was allowed to go over $3.00 per gallon, so that when it came back "down" to $2.00 plus, it would look good? And while we were being gouged, the oil companies showed RECORD profits. (The Reps. said that those profits were needed to help fund searches for altrernative sources of energy. Hey! We've known about the finite-ness of oil for a long, long time now, and I haven't seen anyone producing much in the way of alternatives yet. And, when someone does come up with something, you hear all kinds of griping from the oil companies about the cost of changing the infrastructure of all those gas stations.....)(No one cared about how much it cost to put them all up in the first place, did they? Heck no; there was gold in them thar hills....)
And another thing, (wow! you've got me started on a rant!!!!): Reps are always complaining that the poor need to go out and work harder, but they are the ones who own the businesses that pay so little, lay us off, send their manufacturing needs to other nations, make it nearly impossible to get ahead. (Well, of course; they wouldn't want to lower their percentage of profit by paying us a little more, or paying a little more for their products)
Yep! The rich keep getting richer, and the poor get poorer. I feel like the Reps. wouldn't care if about 3/4 of the people of this country just disappeared--we aren't "needed" any longer, not for their businesses anyway. (Hey! Maybe that's why Dubya has had his eyes focused on Iraq for so long--so he could pretend not to see N. Korea and their bomb. If we get annhililated in a "nook-cue-lar" blast, the Reps will be all snug in their underground shelters, with their piles of money)
Sorry. I'm very tired tonight, and every bone in this 60-yr-old body aches from the manual labor I do (for only $9.00 per hr.), so I'm more than a little cranky.....Guess I'll wind this up with my old standby (which doesn't make it any less true) 95% of the wealth in the whole world is owned by 2% of the people!!!!
edit: Oh Boy! I'm back again. I've just read a few of the other answers and I'm ready to spit tacks!!!Lazy, good-for-nothings??? Keep your legs crossed??? (As if no Rep girls had ever gotten pregnant, or been flown overseas to have her abortion...???) (eh, Muffy??)
In my life, I have received welfare, I have contributed to the system with my taxes, I have received an excellent education, I was married and rai;sed beautiful, intelligent children, and if I thought Communism would really work, I'd be all for it!!!! Democrats aren't nearly liberal enough for me!
After all I have contributed, I am now crippled (and NOT on disability--I still work--hard, physical labor), cannot find a full-time job (mine is considered full-time, but is only 30-35 hrs. per week.).have insurance thru' my employer that leaves me owing thousands everytime I go into the hospital, get sued and have money taken out of my paltry checks for hospital bills, and I work for a major, major (REPUBLICAN) company that is trying to find ways to let all of the older people go and hire nothing b ut part-time youngsters!! I have rent, utilities, food, etc. to pay, get NO HELP from any govt. agency or anyone else, and make a whopping $9.00 per hour after over 5 YEARS with this employer!!! Now who the hell, besides me, cares about me??

Becuase it's tradition and tradition goes a long way...It also breeds elitism without worldliness and culture..think of all white people at a posh country club in a swank east coast town, everyone drives either a jaguar or mercedes benz and they are doctors, lawyers, business men and women, etc who call themselves "Biff" or "Muffy"...with thier preppy wear and designer golf clubs, drinking stiff martini's...now that's a republican crowd.
Case in point, they want to perpetuate a way of life and standard that represents them only and elevates thier beliefs without any diversity whatsoever. God forbid if a blue collar Hispanic or African American from Guana came into the scene...it's plain old fashion IGNORANCE...that's what it means to be republican...and NO, they don't care about you or me...just themselves.
In the words of Bruce Springsteen:
"Never vote f****ing republican!"

I've voted republican all my life, when do I get rich because of it? I'm against baby killing. Why should single mothers get more support than married mothers, or single women with no children, or married fathers, or single fathers.....? Why do movie moguls and media outlets back democrats by funding their campaigns? I know the democrats repay them ten fold and more.

Repubilcans want everybody to do well. We don't want poor people to stay poor because:
1. We don't want to support them with welfare.
2. Wefare is just enough to keep you poor and Democrat.
3. Once you get an education, a skilled job, and see what you lose to taxes, you will become a Republican.
4. Single mothers need to move back with family and do #3.
5. They don't invest in oil.
Your position in life is the cumulative result of your decisions.

Typical left-wing ranting, no facts. You're wasting your time posting this garbage. Get an education. Suggestion: Have you ever tried reading a few well-footnoted documentaries like "The Conquerers" or "The Dark Side of Camelot"?

they care about those that work...
and the rich are the ones in large part who help the economy grow strong because it is the wealthy who create the jobs....it's the wealthy who spread their funds through philanthropic means...
There is a lot of support our there for those in need, and there would be more if we, (the US) stopped paying for everyone who is NOT a citizen....
The rich, Big Business etc. are a necessary evil....if everyone was middle class than who would be able to afford to research new medications? Add specialized wings on hospitals?
Create the business that all the middle class would work at???
