The Taliban isn't the group making the money from the record-breaking crops of herion in Afghanistan. It's the legally elected officials put in place by the never-thinking US. And why not; it's the only crop the country will grow with any success. As long as Pete Doherty and friends are demanding it, someone has to provide. Might as well be the Afghans.

The Taliban don't or rather didn't they stopped the growth of opium in Afghanistan ... its the farmers who now grow it and they don't make as much money as u would like to believe... the real money is made by the drug barrons.... 70% of the worlds heroin comes from Afghanistan so somewhere along the line some dude is making a sh*t load of money !!

Actually under the Taliban regime,the growing of the opium poppy in Afghanistan was illegal.
Since the US invasion and the removal of the Taliban,Afghan farmers have recommenced growing it and Afghanistan has now become the worlds largest supplier of heroin.

If we made heroin legal we could solve a lot of problems in our society and across the world.
at the end of the day, people choose to take it and must therefore live with the consequences.
I suspect that a lot of the harm it causes is due to the fact that it is illegal.

are you sure it was the Taliban who were responsible i went almost all of my life without touching the stuff i went to prison by mistake was Innocent and proved to be so but whilst there was offered heroin and have had life of hell since,. them my daughter had a nervous breakdown and thought the Taliban war was started by her and that they were outside our house trying to kill us then my daughter became more important than the heroin and i gave up by myself self medicating, so the Taliban have lost
