ask kindly... or if they make noise at night, make sure to make "decent" noise very early in the morning, just enough to wake them up, but not enough to have cops knocking at your door.

You confront them in a nice way. If that doesn't work call
the security ( if you live in an Apt.). And if you live in a house
then just call the cops for disturbance, you don't have to give
them your name. Tell them you rather not, due to your safety.
Even if you live in an Apt. you don't have to confront your neighbors, just call. You know how many people live around the
noisy neighbors. It' could be anybody. I have noisy neighbors
and they stand out side playing their music, talking loud and
I've called numerous times. And I don't care what these people
say. They come out of their Apt. as soon as the managers
office closes, they would sometimes stay out until 3:00 A.M.
So I finally got fed up, because it seem like I was the only
one that was disturbed. I took care of all that, now I can
sleep peacefully.

Well, I would say to make noise early in the morning to wake them up...but honestly, you'd have to check first what the hours you are allowed to make noise are. Most areas have designated hours, usually some community areas have the hours of 7am to 10pm where they have a noise level curfew. You might just need to go ask them to keep it down, if they don't, or if you don't want to go over there, just call the police and tell them they are having a noise disruption.

Go party with them and be so bad that they just can't stand you. After that anytime someone starts to get noise they will call them down. " Stop that, the neighbors will hear that and come over." ......... LOL

When I had loud neighbors I would alternately practice trumpet through an open window (I can't play), and play loud classical music through same. They got the hint.

Mine are Latinos, so I had to learn Spanish in order to tell them; Silencio!!! Que esta, Loco?? tonto? INS!!! INS!!! (seriously, if the noise persists past 11pm, call the cops. In most areas it is unlawful to create noise after that hour, and this will give them a wake up call, which they obviously need. It worked for me. Good luck, hon. --R

I have the same problem The people upstairs have kids that run back and forth day and night. I have called the police and made complaints, but they do not even answer the call. I am moving.

Call the police if it is excessive. If it isn't excessive, you don't really have any right to tell them to make less noise.
