Well if you really love th dance never quit. But if you feel that you can't handle it or passion for that dance has gone away then quit. Because dancing shold be done with a passion.

Never, ever, EVER quit dancing, especially for something as silly as not practicing! If you want to dance, you HAVE TO PRACTICE. I cannot stress this enough. Dancing takes a lot of practice, effort, and faith. You cannot half-hearted do something. If you love to dance, consider taking up a new dance. Irish is fun, but there are lots of otherrs to get yourself into. If you do not feel anything for your dancing at all, then I suppose you have no other choice but to quit. Good luck!

If you love it, do it! I dance 6 days a week for four hours at a time. I know it takes a lot of practice and effort but in the end my love for dance always overcomes my hate of practising. Plus, doing any type of dance makes your brain train easier and you have something unique you do that separates you from the crowd.

I guess we both have the same problem, except my mother doesn't come into the picture. right now i'm so bored of my dancing career. so i made a rule that if i don't like what i'm doing i won't do it. and if i want something i know i should work hard for it. in life, you can't have everything in just a snap. i have a friend who is so eager to learn about dance. almost everyday, she would walk all the way from our school, which is on the slope of a mountain down to the city just to learn flamenco for only an hour. if i were you i'd think about it really hard. if quitting would be the answer to your problem, then do it. but make sure you won't regret it in the future.

If you don't want to practice how else are you going to dance it? Your skill will be going down continuously if you don't practice. You probably won't be part of the same performance group anymore. No practicing pretty much means quitting, or taking a brake, or anything you call it.

No, please, Do Not Quit!!! I bet you are pretty good at it, and you like it!!! It is a great way to get your exercise, which may not seem important to you now, but trust me, it will as you get older. It is also a great way to socialize and meet people. No matter what you do in life, you will have to practice. When this session or series of lessons is over, you may want to switch to another form of dance if the Irish dance doesn't get it for you. I also suspect that you are Irish, and it is a great way to participate in your ancestorial culture. Please stay with it. You will be glad you did in ten years, twenty years and probably for the rest of your life. Make the most of it and try to have fun.

It's like this, if you like doing and love doing the dance continue dancing (irish) and make time for it. But if you really dont and you like to dance choose another dance.

if you want to dance, you need to practice---if you love to dance so much think of the practice as real dancing

No don't quit, because you are going to regret it, I did ballet at a time and quit it after many years of doing and enjoying it and today I wish that I'd never stopped it.
