I was told by a OB/GYN RN that it takes about a month for the pill to get out of your system. However, she told me that the best chance for a women to become pregnant is 14-15 days after you stop taking your birth control. When you stop taking BC you will start your menstrual that first day of your menstrual count 14 to 15 days and that's when you should be ovulating. I was completely in shock because I thought you should never try when you are on the pill. She said its a myth! The pill sends a message to your brain not to release an egg. The follow month its waiting for the message and doesn't receive it so out comes the egg. She said the first 2-3 months after taking BC are the Best! I hope her advice helps :)

You can get pregnant while ON the pill! (That's how my first child was conceived.) It's not 100% effective, and my doctor warned me that you must take the pill at the same time every day or there can be a lapse in protection.
I don't know which pill you are taking, but I'd say as soon as you stop taking them then you would likely be able to conceive at least by your next cycle.

I have two children.
Both times, I stopped taking the pill and was pregnant the next month.
So, for me, at least, not long!

unfortunately you will not find a right answer here. the time it takes varies for every female. it also depends on how long you were on the pill. it took me 6 months after quitting to get pregnant. i was on the pill for 4 months. good luck to you.

well some doctorssay it can take up to a year to conceive, I know I was off the pill for two months and got pregnant, I think it kind of depends on your individual fertility...I would say at least one full cycle of being off of them..

It can take 2 or 3 years for some people. We've been trying over 2 years and it hasn't happened yet.

Hard to tell.
I got pregnant the minute I went off. Others have to wait a few months.
