Like my grandpa used to tell me that thunder was the angles spilling their potatoes and the rain was them watering their garden. Do you have any nice stories about your grandparents or parents to help kids feel better about storms?

Oh this brings back memories...my mom used to tell me that the thunder was the angels bowling, and the lightning was the angels taking pictures. :-) I can still remember feeling safer when she would say those things, even though I knew it wasn't really true.

I don't remember any about rain storms, but for snow storms, the angels are having a pillow fight.

When it was thundering my dad used to tell me it was Peter Pumpkin rolling his pumpkins. When it rained my sisters used to tell me God was crying, and when it snowed my dad used to tell me it was Mother Goose plucking her feathers. LOL. I haven't thought about this in years. Oh yeah, and my sisters also told me God was mad when it was storming. Not so nice to think about. They were always telling me mean things to scare me.
