Sure if it is bad enough a person should seek help so something bad doesn't come out of the situation.

of course it is a medical condition that if left untreated can escalate. Get help, try therapy before drugs, as you may have a reason to be depressed, and are just sad.

if the sadness progresses and you cannot find time to be happy and show other signs such as too much sleep, too little sleep, no hunger, constant crying and lack of concentration there are so many signs.

Hope you get better, the best medicine is to talk to someone about it, I have been there and didn't know how deeply I was in my depression until I was hospitalized please don't wait for that, seek help. Good luck and God bless.

yes it can My mother had depression and ended up taking her own life. it started she was crying all the time, then she was doing strange things, she had memory loss, it even effected her body and muscles, not to mention hair loss. She attempted suicide 4 times and was succesfull last year on her 5th attempt.
If you have depression please take the prescribed dose of your meds and if you feel bad or different in some way make sure you have a close friend you can talk to as well as your doctor and councilor.
I wish you all the best.
Stay strong!

it can if it is severe enough. you definitely need to talk to someone about it, and if you have no one in your personal circle to go to, you can definitely seek professional help. Most counties have free mental health centers and crisis lines where you can talk to a real person with experience with dealing and getting out of depression very quickly. For that I suggest calling your local social services agency and asking what number you should call for general mental health assistance...talk to folks online, but definitely talk to somebody, you are never alone.

Oh yeah, I had a premie and postpartum hit me hard. I waited and waited and ended up in the hospital for a 5 day period and have been on anti-depressants since. If you are feeling down, get help now, please don't wait.

If it is not taken care of it can become severe. I had to go in Anti-depressants after the premature birth/death of my daughter. I was just barely functioning. That is no way to live, especially when you have other children that depend on you to be there for them.

yes...depending on the severity of the depression, how long you feel you have been feeling depressed...have you lost interest in things you used to like to do, are you having trouble sleeping or feel like sleeping all the time...are you feeling suicidal...do you cry a lot for no apparent reason..have you lost interest in sex..all of these symptoms should have you trying to find a physician or mental health clinic..
