I'm 24 years old and it seems that guys younger than me have more feminine attributes than in the past. They seem to be just as vain as women when it comes to dress, hair, and style. Do you think this is good or bad?

I think the feminist movement was originally started with the best intentions and got perverted over time. It developed into a movement of competition with men. The original intention was not that women would become men and that men would take on the subservient role that women had in the eras prior to the 60's. Men and women are two different creatures, both with great, equal and complimentary things to offer. It's sad but there is hope. I see men taking back their identity while seeing the value in women and women beginning to see that they can actually be happy and of equal value to men without trying to emasculate them.

I doubt the feminist movement really has that much to do with it. Men in the middle ages were more concerned with fashion than women were, likewise in the era of our founding fathers. It was only in the mid 19th century that it became stigmatized for men to demonstrate fashion sense or vainity. Up until then men's fashions were as gaudy and embellished as womens. If you don't believe me, look up some good pictures of Henry the VIII.
The feminist movement didn't really take hold until well after Henry the VIII, so I have to think that vainity has run in mens veins before now.
As for what I think of the current trend, I don't think vainity is becoming in men or women. It's self absorbed and petty. I don't think it's worse for men than for women, but I think both sexes would be better off thinking in terms of how we think than how we look.

Yes it has, and yes it is bad. Metrosexuals, men hugging men, men crying all the time about every little thing. And i truly believe it traces back to the feminist movement. Of course women should be equal, but that doesn't mean men should be feminized.

You might just be picking the wrong men. I think men are changing back to "real men" ... bikers, welding, Jesse James, etc...working on cars, real men stuff. I prefer the real man over icky G.Q. guy any day!

good. It better than "its ok for me to stink cuz I'm a guy"
Have you been to Europe? The guys over there dress good all the time and aren't worried about "looking gay". America is just taking a long time to catch up!
Anyway, guess I'm just a real manly girl, cuz me and my husband seem to do the other sexes "normal" duties- i.e. He cooks and I do bills. I think as long as things work in a relationship it doesnt matter who does what.
