Why does a "baby" have more right than the woman?

I hear people saying all the time, "the baby has a right to live!"

But so does the woman! Having this kid could kill her, mentally physically. And it takes away her rights. Being forced to have a child IS taking away right that us as americans have. So why are so many people against it? Maybe they are KILLING a "baby" but it hasnt had time to live a life, so it wouldnt know the difference. Really it wouldnt. But letting it be born to an unfit mother, or putinto a horrible adoption place would probably just cause more crime. I wont have an abortion, because I want a kid. But I want to have the right to have one if I wanted too.


ps: I do NOT think it is okay for women who are premiscuos and what not, to do it. I think it should be a little more strict on who gets them.

Women today are being taught that their sexuality is dirty. Having babies is dirty. Men often will intimidate the women into abortion. It's a farce to say "Woman's Rights" ... women no matter how you package her is still trapped in her sexuality (sex object, mother, and other titles); as men are trapped to their sexual desires and titles.

The baby has not had a chance to live. The woman has had a chance to live. Part of a woman's sexuality is having the baby. When this happens it allows many women & men to transition from the "Self" into caring for others. Even rape victims who have the kid attest that the kid is the cure for their missary in rape (see movie, North County).

When Roe vs Wade allowed "Legal" abortion to women in need, the courts specifically wanted this to be used in moderation. At the same time Roe vs Wade passed, other birth control methods were also made available to women: birth control pills (1967), condums, sponges, diaprams. However, more and more, abortion has been used more for birth control.

If the species is human, and the heartbeat means its alive, then you are killing a living human. No one forced you to have sex, and even if they did, how is that the fault of the innocent life? There has probably been one case in medical history where killing the baby would save the mothers life. Its just is so rare that its not worth talking about. A child doesnt have to stay with an unfit parent. There are people who want it. Why is it only a baby if you want it? I dont' have the right to even kill my dog. Whales and every other creature is afforded the right to life, but when it comes to human beings, its ok to kill them. How do you know that the baby being murdered isnt the one God created to find the cure for cancer, or AIDS? Its not for us to decide that its inconvenient for this life to be brought forth. If you don't want a baby, you shouldnt have sex period!
So you see, women DO have rights. They have a right NOT to have sex, and the unborn women should have rights too!

Well, you gave away your rights to not have a child each time you have sex. No contraception is 100% effective except for abstinence. That baby didn't choose to come to life, and as far as the adoption places go, they are very nice. Adoptive parents are screened very carefully that they're fit parents, etc. Pregnant mothers are often even able to choose the parents they want and meet them as well.
You're thinking of orphanage that is a horrible place.
If the mother's life is in danger, then necessary precautions should be taken. Life isn't fair, never was, never will be.

I agree with everything in you first paragraph. The p.s. is a little harder to agree with.

First the clinic or court would have to prove that the women was promiscuous, which would take alot of time and money, and would basically consist of prosecuting a women for being sexually active. All that time would most likely take her over the date that she could abort. They would have to have a way to undeniably prove that a women was sleeping around, in a very short amount of time in order to protect her right under law to abort her baby, that would not be easy to do.

If you have sex, you run the risk of becoming pregnant. Abortion allows people to dodge responsibility by killing someone. If you don't want kids, don't have sex. It's that simple.

As for "rights", if a woman doesn't have the legal right to murder a man who rapes her, why does she have the right to kill a baby that results from the rape, which is also half her blood, half her genes, and her whole child? It doesn't make any sense.

until the 3rd trimester, the baby is dependent on the mother, therefore she should have the choice of abortion or not.

So many people act like it is an easy decision to abort a child, it is not. My parents thought about aborting me, because they did not know if they could afford to care for me. Do I hold a grudge, no. Is it better to allow children to starve and be mistreated so long as they are not "murdered"

Women have no rights in America, her body should be one thing she has control over.

there is a very fine line.........it has to be a personal choice and only the person having the baby can make that choice but thats what its all about is the right to be able to make the choice if the need arises. personally if i knew that i wasnt going to be able to care for the child or it wouldnt have any decent quality of life or was a product of rape or incest then i would be more inclined to have the abortion. as it is i am a single mom who had my child even though i knew my relationship was falling apart and i would be doing it alone but it was tough choice to make. i dont think that anyone has the right to criticize a choice that you make for yourself
