By table salt, I must presume you are excluding kosher salt, sea salt, seasoned salt, etc....

Most will say Morton's is best. Bah-Loanie! Go with Wal-Mart's Great Value Salt. Salt is salt. It's a freakin' chemical compound. That's it? Throw a little iodine in to avoid those nasty goiters and away you go. Morton's is only for the wealthy among us. I probably costs about 59¢ where the Great Value Iodized salt will only be about 47¢.

Hey! Money doesn't grow on trees, y'know!

I like Diamond Crystal the best for table salt.
It's ground smaller than the brand I used to use, and the diamond shaped crystals stay on the food better, rather than bounce off so much.
For cooking, I like use Kosher salt (like Alton Brown taught me) or sea salt.

LOL the girl uses fresh ground salt. It's a mineral honey, not a spice. There is exactly no reason to grind your own salt except to feel yuppyfied. You do need the iodine in most table salts but seriously they are all NaCl so one is the same as the other.

Kosher salt, but it doesn't have the iodine that Mortons does. It's a necessary mineral for the body. Prevents goiter I believe. Sorry didn't research this one.

Well for iodine, a necessary mineral, buy ANY table salt. But most chefs say to buy Kosher salt.

Morton

They all taste just about the same to me but that's the one I always use. Now sea salt tastes a bit different then your average salt.

I don't know, I'm too busy figuring out what kind of weapon requires table salt, black pepper, white paper, a cheese curl snack and school glue.

Do the authorities know about this?
