YESSSSSS.It still and always will suck.There is a ton of excitement in a hockey game and it' cheapens the win. Why did the Leafs let Jackman go? Always scratched my head over that, Steve Sullivan and Jason Smith are another two. Kyle Wellwood's Breakout year continues and look at Tucker, best player for the money in the NHL....

I don't like the shootout either.
It takes away from a penalty shot whenever there's one in the game.
Shootout was put in for those in the southern US, you know where hockey is lucky to get a minute of coverage.

The shootout rocks, its a lot better than a tie for pete's sake. Especially for me cause I'm a fan of the Dallas Stars. The Stars were the best shootout team last year, and we had the best shooter. Oh yeah it was so sweet when Jussi Jokenin went 9 for 9 before he missed the net in San Jose (he went 10 for 13 during the entire year). Ovechkin and Crosby didn't go 9 for 9.

I think the shoot out is great! Very exciting. Tucker the best player for the money in the NHL?!?!?!?!?!?!? Spoken like a true Leaf fan from fantasy land!

The shootout has it bads and goods. For teams like Dallas they would love the shootout (especially Jussi Jokinen). For teams like the Bluejackets, GOOD LUCK!!!!
I used to think the shootout didn't fit in with hockey. But now it is good way to see which teams have better forwards or goalies. It is still good that the NHL has overtime.

You must be joking about Jason Smith... he may be half decent now, but as a Leaf my grandmother could've gotten around him.
I agree about Tucker... I used to hate that guy, but as a Leaf, I love him.

what would you rather have a tie game after three periods then five minutes later it ends in a tie? The shootout makes sense and every point is important as Edmonton proved last year.

the shoot-out sucks, say one team dominates the whole game and the other team gets a fluke goal and wins in the shoout-out, it's bs they should have 20 min overtimes until the game winning goal is scored just like they have it in the playoffs.

hey wussup? i used to also hate it, but i like it now. i used to think like you that it ruins the flow and excitement, but now if it comes to it i get pumped. think about it, it is solid hockey... you got the fowards skill vs the goalies skill... whos gonna win? du du dum... you see it just takes some getting use to, will the foward make a move? will he shoot it 5 hole? its awsome so much can happen

I hate the shootout as well. It worked for us tonight but I wish they would just get rid of it.
