x = 2

First combine x terms:

-20 = -10x.

Now divide by -10 to isolate 'x'.

Thus x = (-20)/(-10) = 2

Hope this helps

Well just rewrite question like this:
-4x - 6x = -20
-10x = -20 > divide both sides by -10
x = 2

add the co-efficients of your x's (the numbers before x, so -4 and -6).

-20 = -10x

divide both sides by the number in front of the x to get x by itself

-20 / -10 = -10x / -10
2 = x
