I have a sister who was bi-polar but I think she has been miraculously healed by the Lord. But it was hard to know what was a real mood or a manic moment. It helps to be completely loving and understanding with the person.
I had two friends at the same time that were bi-polar and they really were great friends though when they went out spending money you had to wonder if this was a manic moment that they would soon regret and then fall into depression over.
And lastly, I had a boyfriend that was bi-polar and apparently was having a manic moment for our 3 months of dating but then crashed and decided that he didn't want to be involved with any women for a long time. A very, very sad time for me...and still is...

YES! I rented a room to a friend that was bi-polar. She made my life hell for 4 months. I tried to help her because of her 5 year old daughter, but when my 26 year old daughter and my 6 year old grand-daughter had to sneak out of their own house to get away from "Tina" and were afraid to come home (they live with me), that's when I kicked her out. Tina has her parents and her daughter's dad she can get future help from. I did what I could. I worry more about little Maddie than anything. My prayers are always with her.

being bi-polar myself its hard to say. i guess it is difficult to keep a friendship since the person is moody one day and happy the next.

Not if they stick with their medication and counseling plans that are set for them. Once they think they "ok enough" to come off their meds or stop going to counseling, the relationship may not be safe for either one of you anymore.

My cousin is bipolar. When he's ok he is fine and dandy. When he is not then we all stay away from him. He tried to kill his mom and his brother had to pull a gun on him . then one time he went berserk in church and started jumping over pews to get to the pulpit where he tried to start preaching.
