The amount of money and apology is only a token and accomplishes nothing. It will take generations before bad feelings fade.

Unfortunately, we did not have the national security resources to do anything other than what we did but, we should have protected the Japanese Americans' property and treated them better than we did. Human nature will cause people to worry about their loved ones in a country we are at war with and will have fluctuating feelings of loyalty that may cause them to do things to try to limit the destruction or commit outright acts of espionage for their homeland. In this particlar case a lot of themotive was racial. Many Germans left the U.S. to fight for Germany and we did not put them in camps as we should have.

No its not the right thing to do.We do not owe any one an apology.especially the Japanese.If any thing,they should apologize to the United States For bombing Pearl Harbor.Remember,all is fair in love and war.

Absolutely. They were American Citizens and they were treated like vicious animals and detained in deplorable conditions. As a point of comparison, African slaves were not considered citizens like the Japanese-Americans were. Truly one of the more disappointing moments in this country's history.
