If the sticky stuff is on a hard enough surface.. use Goo Gone.. it is made of orange oil and it's pretty safe for most surfaces. Just read the instructions before use.

get the Magic Eraser, this thing is phenomenal and will get anything off, even the mysterious sticky substance on your piano. My wife uses it to get pen, markers, scuffs, spills all kinds of stuff off walls and surfaces. We've even used it to remove rubber off our car (a tire came off a truck and hit the car) when nothing else would get it off.

use 409, or Lysol. But first put the solutions on a rag and then rub off the sticky stuff.

You heard it already, Goo-Gone is the way to go. I work in a Hardware store, and it seems to be the best.
However, Definetly do NOT use a product called "Goof-Off" It takes so much to even make a difference and in most cases it is more expensive.

If the sticky won't come off with a warm damp cloth, you might try putting alcohol on the cloth and try that.

First, don't point that thing at the piano. Try aiming it at a sock or something like i do. but just use glass cleaner or a mild degrease like diluted Simple Green.
