Check all the fuses in the fuse panel and then the wiring harness. Sounds like a bad grounded out wire. I have a 93 eclipse and it did the same thing. Had my hubby fix it only to have the manual transmission lock up a week later.

Had you checked the fuses?
If fuses keep blowing, you have a short someplace. Means somewhere a bare wire is grounding out. To better understand your vehicle, buy or go to the library and get the Serice/owners manual for your car. Go to troubleshooting, electrical, and also somewhere in that book is the wiring diagram, maybe you can trace it down and fix the problem. OR you can pay an expensive mechanic to find out the problem.

Sounds like a defective ignition switch. Get the wiring diagram to your car and trace the problem with a voltmeter.
