Peanut butter and jelly! With some large pieces of flat cardboard (flattened boxes perhaps) you could make some jars and paint them to look like pb and j...Maybe I just like pb and j a lot I dont know. At costume stores I have seen ketchup and mustard as well.

Mother nature and Father time
The girl should wear an earth toned long dress and a floral wreath on the head. The boy should wear something long flowing (maybe made out of white sheet), white beard and a big clock you can make out of cardboard with a clock face on it.

You could buy a bunch of yellow chicks (or you can make them out of those little fuzzy pom-poms you get at craft stores) and stick them all over your body. Then make a big magnet to put around your date's neck. Get it... a chick magnet!! I saw this idea on the net and thought it was so cute. Good luck with whatever you decide. Happy Haunting!

mummy's: stain old white bed sheets with coffee cut/tear them in strips and wrap your selves, doctor and nurse probably have to buy it unless you know someone who has scrubs... , hippys, go to thrift stores and cut up old vests paint flowers on them tear up some baggy bell bottoms.... , rock stars again thrift stores and tear up your clothes rub some gel through your hair and make it wild and stick up get some funky glasses.... , I guess it depends are you handing out candy at home or going out... cuz obviously you have to make it age appropriate... but have fun and use your imagination.. there are so many easy things you can do from home
you can be a school girl that ones pretty easy....
but the cheapest and best I can think of would be vampires.... like the ones from blade the new age ones.....dress in a black cute outfit and have him dress in all black both wear dark sun glasses and get one of those packets with vampire teeth and fake blood packets and a little white face paint... use some red lipstick to make your teeth stand out and all that really costs is the price of the packet......???

Try a 50's style. You could wear a poodle skirt, and that's all you would have to really buy, then put a white t-shirt with it, and tie a scarf in your hair and bobby socks with tennis shoes. He could wear blue jeans, white t-shirt, and a black leather jacket, and slick his hair back. Hope this helps

The Sweeney Todd and Mrs. Lovett outfit is a sturdy thought. you may get the products at places including warm subject remember and we like hues. warm subject remember has all the funky clothing which you will opt to placed on. we like hues has the tights which you will need.
