Life is too short to spend it holding grudges. Sometimes the wounds are pretty deep. Maybe forgiveness doesn't have too be forgetting about what ever wounded you but being able to get passed it enough for it not to rule your life.
If you hold onto that hurt the person who hurt you will always have power over you. When you can let go you are free.

yes..because i dont often put grudge onto someone..but then if it's pretty hurting and very much heart wrecking..then i would do. Not unless i see the person so sorry..really sorry for what he/she did..then ill let go of it. my bestfriend and my ex-bf betrayed me.. they went dating and even had a relationship without me knowing the real score..its been 2 years since i've moved on from such experience nad i think 2 years would say that it is a long-held grudge.

I don't hold grudges, but I do remember stuff and I am not afraid to bring it up.
For instance, when we met my brother's girlfriend, I struggled with conversation topics and I asked what type of places they like to eat near their home. They said they don't eat out because of budget reasons and really there aren't any restaurants near their house and besides they really like to cook. None of these are true at all, so sometimes when we visit them and the only food they have is chips and cereal, I say something like -- Oh I thought you really liked to cook?
I'm a little passive aggressive mean, but its not exactly a grudge.

I've held a grudge for the last 26 years of my life, even tho the man I am holding it against is dead. I will NEVER forgive him. He raped me when I was 8, and did every time he watched me till I was 12. When he moved away, I have never been so releived, when we got word he was dead, I felt safer.
I didn't tell anyone at the time, because my parents told me to do what he told me to do before they left, and when he told me not to tell anyone, so i didn't.

I held a grudge against my dad from 1967 until his death in 1999. When I was 5 I asked him if he loved me and he put me down and walked away. I never heard him say it.

Well, I haven't spoken to my mom in a very long time, but it's not a grudge, it's self preservation.
