Hmmmm.....interesting question. I think blacks are accused of it because they do play that card. I've noticed now, in the state where I live we have a large hispanic population and now they are the ones playing the card. They throw around their "latina" this or "I'm hispanic, gimmee gimmee". Why do you even have to state your color? For instance, why is there a Miss Black America? (actually, there used to be one I'm not positive there still is one). Why is it labeled "black owned business"? I mean, if we had Miss White America what kind of back lash would we get as white people? Why in this day and age do black people still have to separate themselves through cultural differrences? It makes one stick out and then someone like me looks at it and thinks, if you want to live as one people in this great land it's ok to embrace your ethnicity, but don't ask for anything on top of it just because you are of a specific race.
Why do you say axe instead of ask? Your brothers and sisters back in the 60's & 70' & 80's didn't speak like that. It's a "gansta" language as far as I'm concerned. If you want to be respected, treated equal like everyone else don't make yourself stick out like a sore thumb. Don't wear your pants below your ***, it's just dumb.
I think I may have veered off of your questions. I mean no disrespect, I don't know how else to get my points across.
Your thoughts?

I only go by what I see on tv and the news and thats probably where most people get it, too. If you were white and didnt get any special laws or any special treatment because we cant necessarily yell racism because knowone would take it seriously. It is like the illegal immigrant issue, in a way. Everybody is tired of all the special things they get while we are paying for it in one way or another. Not the same thing, just a comparison. I know that african americans had one hell of a bad time and still dont have it all that great, if you watch the news though, is anybodyelse having it any better? Anyone can live in a bad neighborhood, anyone can be on foodstamps and welfare, anyone can be stuck without a good education, anyone can be shot down because someone just didnt like their looks. Its not just one race that goes through these things. But, it seems only a few get more that helps only their race while another cant because it would be called racist by the others. I dont know if I am making any sense by now, but I think it is the fact that some people have a race card to use and others dont that gets tiring. Anyway, I hope you get a good answer to your question.

I don't recall hearing it brought up around me by black people, or white people, but then again, in my circle we are all liberal, free-thinking people...
My conservative parents comment about how often they hear other customers at Walmart yelling that they aren't getting a refund b/c they're black, but again, the blacks (and many of the whites, really) in their part of North Carolina are pretty low on the economic totem-pole, and when you're scraping the bottom of a barrel every month b/c the mill closed, you'd do anything to make ends meet.
I worked retail for a while, and the only time I ever heard it was if someone was making an unreasonable request, and was denied. The next thing I would hear after "I'm best friends with your manager!" (aways a lie), was "Do you always treat black folk like that?" The White people would say stuff like "I work hard for my money, it isn't good enough for you???".
Everybody in this country wants their own way, screw the rest of us, sensible or no. And some resort to political posturing to get it...

Race card. I grew up a white, blond, green-eyed girl in a very backward country where everybody else was brown to dark brown/black.. I was the minority (most definitely!). I treat everybody the way I was treated then. Well. Fairly. Justly.
I came to the US and a man from Nigeria decided he wanted to have a black/white conversation with me. It was an interesting conversation. I just listened..... the conclusion of the Nigerian was, that afro-americans blame all the wrongs they experience on their color. They didn't get fired because they were late. They got fired because they were the wrong color. He called it "the uncle Tom complex". I neither agree nor do I disagree. History is a tough thing to live down.
I've lived in the US for 26 years now. I've made more afro-american friends than white friends. I've been in downtown Detroit at 2:30 a.m. in a totally afro-american bar, where people (all men) were SHOCKED when I walked in asking for directions....and walked out with a detailed map of downtown and the way to the hotel I was seeking - and some well meant advice to get in my car and lock the doors and not get out of it again until I reach the hotel. ??? :) . Unharmed. (When I tell this to someone they ask me if I was crazy......No, I wasn't. I was just being me).
The only race card that has ever been played around me was played against me: "You talk with your hands, you are too passionate, you are too honest, you are too ". This card was and is played on a daily basis by my employer and his trustworthy (white like me) employees.
I know I didn't answer your question, I just had to tell you how I feel.

Haven't we learned anything from History it's always been that way. 90% of oppression came from non slave owers. In fact all the bad things you hear about slave owner pale to compare to the way blacks were treatd by people who had no investment into slaves. 400 years of History EVERYTHING is base on Lies and deceptions.
Ex; They took one group in Africa of what they call primitive culture and said this is how all dark skin people are. By doing so they enemy can now make such statements as "Africans sold other into slavery". Then twist truth by saying a white man is who freed them. If the white man was the good guy why didn't the first president do it? If their the good guys why did they keep them as slaves? If they could sign a law for blacks to vote in 1965, why didn't that happen in 1865? They say you would still be slaves in Africa, yet no from of legal slavery exist in Africa and they were servants rather than subhuman beings. They tell us we should be happy were are not livings in a hut in Africa when in fact most Africans don't live in huts and if they do then it because they want to. They say we now have freedom most don't have esle where. But omit the that freedom comes from 400 years of oppression of OUR ansectors not their for their rights too.
See they just fear you will learn the truth because the truth is what will set you free. They want to to forget anything that could lead you to truth which is the reason for it.
DECEPTION is defined as a LIES PERCEIVED AS TRUTH, whenever somebody tells you a lie and you believe it as truth, then you have been deceived.
IGNORANCE simply means YOU DON'T KNOW.
So if you believe a lie is truth, this means you don't know what the truth is, thus making you ignorant of the truth.
Willie Lynch---Our EXPERTS warned us about the possibility of this phenomenon occurring, for they say that the mind has a strong drive to correct and RECORRECT itself over a period of time if it can touch some substantial ORIGINAL HISTORICAL BASE: And they advised us that the best way to deal with this phenomenon is to SHAVE OFF THE BRUTE'S MENTAL HISTORY and create a multiplicity(great # of) of phenomena of illusions(Lies)."
"for further severance from their original beginning, we must completely annihilate the mother tongue.

sounds like you have already formed your opinion-you don't really want a dialog-that's why you ask this kind of question every day-you are very busy trying to disprove things that do exist-indeed you dismiss the answers you do get if they don't match your thinking-black people DO call the race card-that's why they didn't get rescued fast enough in New Orleans-cause they were black,at least that is what they blamed the slow response on-it was ineffective government for sure, but no-one let those people suffer just because they were black,it didn't stop the blacks from saying it and playing the race card though.

My boyfriend is white. He is from Europe and sometimes we talk about race, and we talked about this before. He is from a different place meaning he wasn't born here, so he is giving me a pure thought. When he came here he saw that America was very divided. Not by color but by class. Money divides Americans, and those who do live in lower class areas always get the stereotypes, or put ther stereotypes on other people, as well as people who have been influenced by other people and never experienced things for themselves. I grew up in a suburban area and never had the "race card" ever use. Until I move out and moved on to bigger cities where people who never been outside of their area and are just brainwashed by history and "generation curses" So I guess the answer to your question is don't worry about people like that. Everyone is not a racist. It all depends on the people you meet and where they came from.
I hope that helps!

Every whites love to play poker and other table game where they use card. When you loose and you got only one car left that's the last chance to defend your self. White American like to simplify everything to the level of a game. They also say " He is as American as Apple pie".
When they say that black people use the race card, this mean that they already know that you wrong because you already loose. You know you wrong and you use they race card to get you out of trouble. Originally that "race card" expression come from south Carolina.

I don't know...I have to answer inquries from the NAACP and the media all the time - because people I arrest complain on me - or else they are mad because I didn't lock someone up who they wanted locked up and they think I didn't take them seriously because they are black - and when I take the side of a white person over a black person, then of course, I might as well be wearing a white hood...
...BUT when I arrest a white person - or even write them a ticket - they want to know why I'm bothering them instead of catching the "real" criminals (real=black).
And some white Southerners do say some funny stuff...like "warsh" as in "ya'll warsh up for supper" - but man, there's nothing funnier than a black person saying "dis-creet" as in "my friend live up dis-creet, second screet on the right."
The black male (and some female!) fashion trend of wearing pants down around the knees is pretty awful - the whole "thug" thing is setting race relations back decades...but it does seem in my experience that a lot of these "thugs" have actual learning disabilities and other problems...yesterdays crack babies...but the white trash methhead look isn't that appealing either...and there are THOUSANDS of them everywhere.
Bottom line - both races are full of annoying, ignorant louts.
But there's a few decent people on the planet and you sound like you're one of them. I bet you're a hottie too...aren't you?

Blacks do play the race card more than Whites do. The reason is very simple. Whites don't need Blacks to live well, and in fact Blacks are an impediment to Whites. We'd be better off if your race wasn't here with us. The reverse is not true. You can't do what we can do. You can't make what we can make. If all the Blacks were to disappear from this continent, the lives of the Whites in it would improve. If all the Whites were to disappear, on the other hand, the lot of Blacks would worsen more each year until, perhaps in a hundred years, you were right back in your African savagery again.
Playing the race card is an ostentatious way of laying a guilt trip. Blacks do it in order to provide themselves with a pretext to milk Whites of money, material resources, or political advantage. Blacks do it because Whites are the source of those things. Whites don't do it (much) because it Blacks are not the source of anything a White might want, and so it wouldn't make any sense to try to get anything that way.
