It depends on what kind of a sound card you have. For instance, SoundBlaster sound cards often come with a utility called "Creative Recorder", and one of the selections within that program is to record "What U Hear". As you play something, and while running Creative Recorder, the sound will be captured and saved as a .WAV file. See if your software has something similar. Good luck.

you'll need a sound recorder built into your audio card. you'll probably also want some software to do what you want. there are lots of them out there
