GOOD QUESTION, CAUSE I'M AGAINST BUSH AND NOT A LIBERAL!
Called the Military Commissions Act of 2006, the bill abandons the Geneva Convention (formed after Hitler's atrocities in WWII), legalizes the torture of U.S. citizens, suspends all civil rights for prisoners and allows the President to declare virtually anyone to be an "enemy combatant" -- artists, writers, scientists, protestors or anyone who does not agree with the pro-war stance of the current regime.
It would also retroactively grant blanket immunity to all U.S. military personnel who have committed war crimes under the Geneva Convention. Such immunity would extend to present and future war crimes as well. In other words, the United States will now officially harbor and support war criminals. In the context of international law, the United States is effectively declaring itself to be a criminal state that will respect no international law.
Just as frighteningly, the new Act would utterly nullify the courts and make it illegal for the judicial branch of government to interfere with the imprisonment and torture of anyone, thus affecting a dangerous power shift from the judicial branch of government to the executive branch.
Hitler followed the same strategy in centralizing his own power, and by nullifying the courts while taking over the media, he was able to propagandize his war, arrest all dissenters, and concentrate power in his own hands. The ultimate result was an unjust war and a humanitarian disaster that haunts the world to this day.
The United States is now firmly on the same path. These are dark times for our nation, and future historians will no doubt look upon this historic vote as the trigger that thrust the United States into a full-fledged police state, complete with secret arrests, government spying on citizens, and the mysterious "disappearance" of those who dared to speak out against the dictator.

I agree with BHARRIS44 if you are a name caller then you are a liberal. Only liberals call people names. (this is an example of sarcasm)
I was just asking myself your question earlier today. Actually it crosses my mind every day. Reading alot of this stuff on line one comes to the realization that much of it is from children and teenagers parroting what they hear from their parents. Anyone who has taken political science in college understands the whys of politics. Unfortunately what we have in the way of a president today is a divider, one who says you are either for us or against us. He is not the first one to say/use this phrase. Its a dangerous mentality, a narrow mentality. Anyone who thinks life's decisions and problems are that simple is a fool. We were once a great country, a united country but it seems now we have no unity, no direction, no great leader. Ronald Reagan was a great man, great president, great leader, Bill Clinton was a great president and did more for me, a working middle class individual than any president in my life to date. Because Bill Clinton cheated on his wife and tried to cover it up DOES NOT make George Bush a good president. I do not like liberals, I am opposed to my tax dollars paying for the lazy, the illegal immigrants, the welfare cows. I am opposed to gay marriage, I believe in a strong millitary and think we should kick the crap out of iran and n. korea. I think George Bush is the worst president since pre jimmy Carter. and for that one reason alone I am called a liberal. Its not simple ignorance. Its a COMPLEX ignorance, one that takes alot of practice.

I just can't understand why in the world ppl believe that Bush is a conservative. It is simply an erroneous assumption to say that Bush is a conservative. I believe that ppl are just using defense mechanisms to go along with a certain party. Generally, Americans don't read and will accept whatever the corporate media feeds them.

It's a calculated strategy. If you aren't a Liberal and you disagree with the Administration, you might not express your views for the dislike of being labeled a Liberal.
And Liberal is the boogeyman that Ronald Reagan invented much like Al Gore invented the internet.

Why do you assume that ALL Bush supports think all who don't agree with them are liberals. That's not true either. And your question is just as ignorant as those that assume all people are liberal if they don't agree with the president.
The truth is that there will always be a group of people that don't support the current administration.

must be a lot of liberals in the republican party! You see how they are running from their president? Now the Key word is "independent" even though they voted with BUSH 94 percent of the time.
The ship is sinking and the rats are running.
Must be liberals on the Supreme court as well,

Most supporters are the most mentally dimminished of the population, in true facts many of the former Bush supporters are distancing themselves from him as they are becoming aware at how much he has hurt this country. They are not making fools of themselves as most of them were born with it.

Anyone who paints any group of people with such a broad brush isn't very bright. It's ignorance, and whoever does it is making a fool of himself.
Sure there are examples such as "all serial killers are bad", but something like a group of people who support the President is pretty broad.

That is about the only word they know. They don't know what it means, but heard others saying it.
If we survive Bush, it will be a real miracle.
An army can fight an army or destroy a country, but is a target for terrorist. We cannot really win in Iraq. The best defense against terrorist is to have people organized into neighborhood watches to identify terrorist and report them to the police.
