As of now I have gone 3 weeks without any pills. I just want to know how other people have done it and kept to it. Thanks!

First of all I have to say congrats! That's very , very hard.
I am still taking mine and I am still in real pain. I am down to only taking them now when I really, really need them and my skin stopped crawling. I stopped staying up all night and opening and closing the bottle. My friend John lives in Arizona and he is a drug rehab counselor. He helped me. He told me to cut down my pills. Literally. I cut them into pieces. I found myself taking them when I didn't need them. I took little pieces of the pills. It helped. On bad nights I took them with asprin so that my body was fooled into thinking I took a bigger pill. It somehow helped. I got off them totally. Now I was in another car accident. They gave me vicodin again. I'm only taking them when I absolutely have to. I have stuck to that so far. It's hard on days when my back hurts really bad. But I will just crochet and crochet. When my head joins in the chorus then I may break down.... but not until it gets really bad and I'm crying.

Unfortunately my mom was addicted to pain pills. She had to be institutionalized to kick the habit. After that a church support group is what has kept her off. Since you have managed to kick the habit for three weeks now I would strongly recommend a support group. It eases the anxiety of what you will face next. I wish you the best of luck and congratulations on kicking the habit!!!!!

If it has been three weeks you are past any effects from physical withdrawal. Now you must focus on the psychological addiction. I would recommend Narcotics Anonymous.

I was addicted to vicodin and ibeprofin to a while and i just realized that i was hurting myself...i still take the ibeprofin, but in moderation and have totally stopped with the vicodin. it's extremely hard at first, but in the end its definatly worth it

Just think about how bad it could harm you in the long run, if that dosn't help you quit I can't think of anything else.
