Yes it is normal. There are alot of sick people out there today. It's like if you watch the news its like they are trying to out do each other. Just try and separate yourself from it all-think of the positive things going on in your life. Don't worry these people will pay dearly for there sins when they die. Maybe you could meditate, do yoga, find a good church to attend or surround yourself with positive things and family and or friends.

Start limiting the amount of television news you watch, it's all junk. I mean we turn it on in the morning and it's all NEGATIVITY, war, murders, pedophiles, this that. It's not good. Look inward to yourself, do some meditation, join a yoga class. I think the best thing you could do, if you have time, is find something you would like to volunteer with, or donate too. Like go buy some groceries and donate to your local food bank. YOU can't make the icky world outside change everything, but YOU can make small differences in your community. It will make you feel better, give you hope and help someone.
Oh yeah, and don't forget to smile at people, always say please and thank you.

I think it's pretty normal it would be abnormal if a lot of the things that happen in this world didn't upset you. The trick is finding your zen I suppose, there really isn't much you can do to change most of the things that happen, not all but most. So you have to say **** it I am going to live my life and I'll be damned if I'm not going to be happy doing it too. You have to see the ultimate humor in life when something bad or upsetting happens to me I try to laugh about it before I let myself get depressed or pissed. I don't know but that's the best I can come up with for me and it seems to work ok for now.

It is very normal. Stop watching the news and reading the newspaper, that's a good start. You can't trust it these days anyhow and bad news sells. Pay more attention to good things that happen. Remember, your focus determines your reality, it's really true.
If you can't find any good, then you really need to go out and look for it; meet some new people, go to new places, connect with nature. Happiness is choice, it won't come along on it's own.
Namaste,
Gwen

No, it is not normal. There is much more to life than that. I seriously suggest that you see a professional, ASAP. You sound depressed and like you might not see the world clearly. Life is too short to view it in that manner. You could be enjoying yourself, finding a hobby, spending time with loved ones, etc. etc. etc. You cannot feel enough for the entire world, so stop trying. Your sadness accomplishes nothing. But, as I said earlier, you sound as if you need some professional help. So please seek it. Good luck. Get out there and make a life for yourself, and you won't have so much time and energy to worry about things that you do not control.

having two kids in the military, when 9/11 happened, I watched the news constantly...I don't think I slept much at all...got very depressed...I got out of my slump by turning the tv off....I hardly ever watch the news anymore...the news is filled with nothing but bad news...I think when people who watch the news and get depressed, they sort of get a feeling of helplessnes, like something should be done, but there's nothing you or I could do....like the Amish girls being murdered....Why? so senseless, and that is hard on the mind, spirit, and hurts your heart...Guess what?...your a human with a heart.....Don't watch the news so much, find something you can do to make a difference....put your energy in that, cause' if you let the bad stuff consume you, bad people win!....don't let them!!!!!

as I have said before to others.....
accept these small truths
a) sometimes bad things happen to good people for no apparent reason.
b) sometimes good things happen to bad people for no apparent reason.
c) bad times are just like good ones... they all pass sooner or later....
It is very normal to feel saddened by the negative things that happen in the world... the only thing I can do to make myself feel better about the state of the workd is to stop watching the television.....

Depressed people are greatly effected by bad news. Maybe you should see about anti-depressants because it's not the news...it's how you are processing news. I went through the same thing but since I've been taking medication I feel sad when sad things happen but it doesn't put me to bed.

I'd be depressed too if I watched the news..
Car Crash! Murder! Rape! Terrorism! Arguements! War!
And now,an alligator that has befriended a chicken. :-)
Seriously, the news shows the worst and most horrific things in the world, focus on your own life,if you've got good people *AROUND YOU*,consider yourself very lucky. =)
