If I file a lawsuit for property damage and win, will I get a recovery for all costs: money for the damage, the court and lawyer fees? Or will I just get money for the damage?

It depends on the type of lawsuit and the law of your state. Did the property damage arise from negligence, breach of contract or something entirely different? That can make the difference.

damages and court fees. Attorney fees are rarely awarded unless the defendant has committed an egregous act. Such as, sending you a letter telling you to have the repairs made and to bill the defendant, then they don't pay. You acted on their word and they backed out, maybe in that instance the court would award attorney's fees because you should not have had to sue for the damages on their word.

You can usually recover for damages and costs. That is, your actual damages, plus the costs of bringing the suit--clerk's and court reporter's fees, etc. Attorneys' fees are not included in the latter.
