The post office only supplies boxes and envelopes for priority and express services any other supplies are your own responsibility. If it will fit in a flat rate box you can ship up to 70lbs for $8.10 but I would include .50 more for delivery confirmation. You canlearn more at usps.com.

You need a sturdy mailing container, and according to what you are mailing possibly packing supplies. This can be foam peanuts or bubble wrap or something simple like newspaper or plastic bags, mashed securely around the items.
You want to use a waterproof marker to write your address and the receiver's address. Be sure to include a packing slip inside.
There are several choices of shipping at the post office.
Priority mail will give you packing tape, address labels and boxes for free, but costs more to mail.
I always recommend insurance in case something is lost or broken during shipping.

I did a lot of selling on EBay. If you are using USPS for shipping, you can go to their website and estimate your shipping costs. I used a lot of priority shipping. You can create an account online and print shipping labels. If you know the exact weight of your parcel, You can pay for it and have it picked up by the US postal service. If you don't, you can still print your labels and take them to the post office. What a lot of people don't know is that you get a free delivery confirmation with every priority shipping label you print online. This is ordinarily an extra .45 charge. It adds up when you ship a lot, and it lets you know your package has been received. You print on regular paper and tape them to the package, no special labels needed. They're even bar coded to be read by the postal machines upon delivery scanning.
Good Luck and Happy EBaying

You have to go to the post office so they can weigh it and tell you how much the postage is.
