I wanted to know what would be a good fiction book for an oral book report I have on October 29th. It should be not too long (not like 400 pgs, 200-300 would be good) and relatively easy to make an oral book report on. The report should be 3 min and under 4 min so it can't be a book that has many many different events going on. I must be a fiction and should have a strong theme or attitude that the author intends to express. I also would like the events easy to memorize. THANKS!

Good science fiction
The Rolling Stones by Robert Heinlein
The Stone family packs up and decides to go touring the solar system. The unheavenly twins, Castor and Pollux Stone have a plan to make money first on Mars, then in the asteroid belt. Follow the adventures of the first family of science fiction.
Books by Andre Norton
Written for teenage boys, all the early Norton books have wonderful plots and are fast reads. Here are a few of my favorites:
The Last Planet, Plague Ship, Moon of Three Rings, Postmarked the Stars, The Sioux Spaceman, The Stars Are Ours, Star Born.
TOO YOUNG A KING by Ellen Anthony
When Edwin of the Wolf becomes king at age ten, it's no cause for celebration. His father is dead and his 3 year old brothers have been murdered. Can his uncle keep him alive? And why are two old enemies suddenly offering alliances?
The one by Anthony will probably be the easiest to find. I know it can be ordered from www.hardshell.com. The others you'd have to get on Amazon.

I am currently reading 'Into the Wild' and I am really enjoying it. It is about 200 pages long and is relatively easy to read. The plot is easy to follow. It has some deep themes (human behavior/thoughts, etc.) and lots of allusions to other authors but its very interesting.
The only problem is that it is based on a true story but it has been tweaked a little and I'm not sure if that qualifies for fiction.
Hope this helps!

The Thief Lord by Cornelia Funke is good. If you're into fantasy any books by Tamora Pierce are good. Inkheart and Inkspell and also the City of Ember. Those last ones are considered children's books though, so you might want to stick to something else. Hoot is a popular book as well as Flush by Carl Hiaasen (sp?). Head to the nearest local library and check out their YA section for further help. Just a suggestion.

I would also go with George Orwell's "Animal Farm". That book is short and very well written. I loved it. The reader can get many different criticisms from it and it would be an easy write/book report. The whole story has a double meaning, not just these animals trying to take over the farm. It is very, very good.

i loved the Lord of the Rings books, but also try looking up Rover in the library. Maybe even Lancaster Brides...all are very excellent books, thay i'm sure will captivate your class during your oral report...i have to do and oral report myself, though mine has to be a biography...also try Maximum Ride by James Patterson (though don't read his other books)...he is a phenomenal author...Max. Ride isn't 400pgs., though

if you like fiction books i recommend Eragon by Christopher Paolini i couldn't put it down and i had to give a speech on it too plus if you start to run out of time you could always get the audio book and listen to that. other than that you could probably do it about a book that you have already read and remember pretty well. good luck

Try "The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon," by Stephen King. It is short and intense and thematically strong. It's about the experience of a little girl who gets lost during a hike with her family and survives several days of being lost in the Maine wilderness.

I did The checklist Card by Andrew Clements in 6th grade and have been given an A. it quite is not very thick and is a pair of female who is going to college and tricks each and every physique into questioning she's stupid while she's truly an off-the-charts genius.

Frankenstein, by Mary Shelly, is a good book. It is not too hard to read, and the subject matter is easy to explain (Most people only know the story from how it is represented in movies.).
