A light year in metric is almost exactly 10^13 kilometres/

That's 10 trillion kilometres. easy to remember

In metres, just multiply by 1000

= 10^16 metres

10 quadrillion metres

Multiply by 4.22

= about 40 quadrillion metres to Proxima.

(Near enough to the answer above, but I didn't have to reference Wikipedia)

4.22 ly x 9.46×10^15 m/ly = 3.99×10^16 m
