I honestly love my job. I have been a retail manager for 5 years, now, and it feels so good to work your way up to the top, like I have done.
I don't think I could stand an office type job, and the great thing about my job, is that I can get as involved in the physical part as I want (provided I don't get so involved I am not managing my store!).
I love planing my day, merchandising my areas, and seeing my sales go up! It's very rewarding.
Plus, the pay is great. GM's at big box stores can make well over 100,000.

In college I majored in BS Hotel and Restaurant Mgmt. After graduation, I got a job in the hotel industry as a front desk clerk. I enjoyed my job as fronk desk clerk, I worked like that for one year and a half till I got another job as a customer service representative. Its not far from my first job as a front desk clerk cause basically I interact face to face and on the phone with customers, I describe my job as the immediator of customers to management. But anyway, I liked my first job(front desk clerk) but I was offered better as a Customer service rep.
Take time to really "evaluate yourself" to see what job/major you would "really love" either to earn less or to earn more. You have a couple of months to go before your high school graduation comes.

I'm an engineer and I LOVE it!
I work for a food manufacturer.
I had to work a lot of frogs to get this prince.
Asking someone's salary is always too personal, but I make a very good one.

your thinking that, "you should do what you like for less" is a good theory. i am so bored and unexcited about my job that i don't care what the work looks like or how good the job gets done. yea it pays ok but i don't look forward to going in and thats not good for anyone. i was married at one time and never looked forward to going home. my wife, who was good looking and worked, but lazy and never interested in sex,...i found this out to late i guess. its the same concept. find someone or something that turns you on and forget about looks or money. remember ...its forever..
