I love how people take questions so seriously. They really get mad! That's cool!

I can only speak for myself: It's because I know how to spell most words I write, and for the ones I'm unsure about, I consult a dictionary. I highly recommend it!

I'm not sure that it irritates me, in fact I think that I come away feeling pretty good about my schooling afterwards.

If I am sure that the poor grammer and spelling is because they don't care... that would bug me - but then, how do we know.

I just like the idea that I can turn the computer off and go to bed before I become too annoyed.

Many times I don't use spell check because it rejects proper nouns like Google and technical, rarely used or foreign words. Almost every answer I give includes something spell check finds unacceptable and I'm a good enough speller that I can get my point across.

Get over it. This is not a class in composition, it is a live question and answer site. getting the point across is more important than spelling.. besides, the spellcheck aspect in this program is far from perfect.

well, "plainly to see" is grammatically incorrect. that should be "plain to see". and "kinda" isn't a real word.
