How long have you got?
The biggest problems are Immigration and the wonderful Human Rights Law, the introduction of which had nothing to do with Cherie Blair being a top Human Rights barrister at all.lol.
The Labour government got us on our knees in the 70's with the trade unions calling the shots, Maggie kept us down then Blair came in to make sure we were dead and buried.
We or the schools can't chastise our children anymore so they now just run riot, anyone law abiding gets taken to court for sticking up for justice and the criminals and little 50 cent wannabees just run round with knives and guns mugging and killing knowing they will only get community service. Unless of course they happen to be driving a car with a faulty brake light in which case they will have the book thrown at them.
We have wonderful 'community police' now who haven't even got the power to arrest someone. What will they do? give a murderer a stern telling off and ask them nicely to wait until the proper police arrive?
We have the CSA who will happily take money off you before even asking if you know the mother or the child, a court system that isn't even classed as a joke anymore it's that poor.
Prisons are now overcrowded and they are offering foreigners £2500 to go home!
Why dont they send them home as soon as they commit ANY offence?
Bring back the Death penalty for murderers and kiddy fiddlers and introduce hard labour back instead of it being like a holiday camp?
They could build the roads etc that cost this country billions.
Why don't men get the same rights? why can silly women cry rape and not get prosecuted when the lies unfold?
Why is there no victim support for the men who are victims of this injustice?
Why are we all still paying for Prescott to live in luxury?
When are we going to get a party who are more interested in putting the Great back into Great Britain rather then just self serving and lining their pockets with our money and setting up their nice fat pension deals?
I could go on........

I'm glad you and a lot of your answers have mentioned English rather than British!
I don't honestly think Britain was ever 'Great' certainly not for the workers, maybe for the upper classes who could go hunting with the Raj in India, but never for the rest of us! And certainly not for the British troops that have been killed taking over over peoples land and property!
It's a bit late in the day now to be moaning about immigration, you all voted whether to join the EU, the vast majority said "yes, great idea" the circumstances were clearly set out in the referendum, this is democracy isn't it??
"The NHS is poor" compared to what stage in British history??
Government?? Any one advocating a return of the Thatcher mob knows nothing about the history of the Tories what a complete bloody shambles that was!!
People (mostly English) have for many many years thought they were the 'bees knees' of the world!
Time to wake up folks its not true ! Never has been for the workers!
We are a cosmopolitan Nation, it doesn't matter what you think about immigration, its here to stay, if you don't like it emigrate, hope you get treated with the same respect you are giving our fellow man that comes here to try and make an honest living!!

I think you are reading the "Daily Mail" too much. I have lived abroad for 12 years, in Mexico. Now you may say that I am in no position to comment, but think... maybe I am. I visit Britain once a year. What do I see different from 12 years ago? Everybody has a job, everybody seems to have a nice car, things are cheaper.
No pride in the country? Wow, what a comment... I was back for the World Cup last year, we never used to see such demonstrations of national unity and pride as we do during the major tournaments, all those flags.
The Government are training 1000s of nurses, this takes time though, we will see benefits later. My brother works for NHS and says they even go abroad recruiting. Technology has moved on and NHS is very much more expensive now, people moan about paying for it though.
You really don't appreciate how lucky you are living in UK, here we have Drug trafficing and related violence... 300 plus deaths this year in my city, I've seen 2 dead bodies in last few weeks, corrupt police, no NHS, you have no job and get sick you die. I could go on.
Please appreciate your luck and stop believing what you read in the tabloids.

I blame the Rolling Stones, personally. When I look back, it seems it all started to go wrong when the Rolling Stones started appearing on TV.
Tell you what. When Churchill was buried, the whole notion of "Britishness" was doomed, too.
Britain is only a small island and now it's sinking under the weight of a baying horde of muslims, homosexuals and left wing do- gooders. Can no-one save us? Oh for another Oswald Moseley!!

Yep, the kids who got 8 years today will serve 2 max, and then be relocated and given a new identity, the Romanian gypsies have nothing to their name, except a passport, sitting on their horse and carts waiting for Romania to join the EU, so they can come to Britain, the amount of paperwork and red tape the teachers and the NHS need to do is strangling both to death, the armed forces were reduced to form a smaller well equipped force, our national identity has been eroded by foreign influences.
Far to many do goodies, and not enough realists!

Let me see where should i start. Spinless government that looks for short term solutions to long term problems. Destroying and offshoring manufacturing and industry, over generous welfare system, underclass and dependency culture, hate success, hard work and achievement of all especially foreigners, narrow minded view of Europe and rest of the world, bad attitude to hard work and education, broken society with no morals, discipline and community.
Obscenely expensive, 20% VAT, CCTV cameras everywhere, stifling and outdated class system, low social mobilty, no good jobs for graduates unless you live in London or commute from the South or outskirts of the city.
Unfriendly, selfish and apathetic society, hard to make friends compared to America and Europe, envy material possessions and talent irrationally.
The UK is really a dump if you ask me. Not a good place to do well and succeed, limited jobs, yobs and chavs run around and cause trouble. Binge drinking and loud behavior.

I wish I was part of the UK that was once proud of being British, when we had a backbone and when we were all English. This nation thiese days is nothing but a melting pot for the crap to come and take advantage of. Tony Blair must be to blame for the modern image that we have.
