I want to apply for business school and I need my boss to write a recommendation letter for me. How do I ask for it? What should I say?

Several options are available... you could just ask your boss to write the letter since it is needed for the business school you'd like to attend. I'm sure he'd realize it's important to the company to have you improve your education. In case he should say he doesn't have time, just say you took the liberty to write a letter (and then pull it out of your pocket) and say, "This only needs your signature."

Simple, write him a request to issue you a recommendation letter. In the application write the objective of the letter clearly.

Tell your supervisor you are applying to a business school to improve yourself in the business world, and would he write a letter of recommendation for you.
