Statistically I think the private school kids do better.
I'm not saying that private schools teach better.

The reason is that public schools has to take everybody.
Private schools are usually attended by the motivated either the parents and/or the student which yields better results.

I think it really depends on the school and the kids. Some private school teach better than public, but then there are some private that aren't as good as public schools.

Private school kids do better than public school kids. There are less students in private schools, so there is more one-on-one assisstance. Private schools prepare kids for public schools. The only reason why I can see why they say that public school kids do better than private school kids is that private school are much harder. Grading skale is harder, much more homework, more strict, and way easier to get detentions.
