Does anyone know if in Cuba they celebrate halloween? If they don't, what do they celebrate that is sort of the same or really in place of Halloween?

Note: This is for a report for school.

Don't know about Halloween in Cuba, but just wanted to make a correction / clarification to answerer #1 who says that Carnival is in winter or spring. Actually, it's in spring only. Carnival happens around the time of Mardi Gras, which is the day before Ash Wednesday, which leads into the 40 day period of atonement before Easter. Easter's always in spring, and thus so is Carnival and Mardi Gras always in spring.

Good luck on your Cuba question. I wish I knew the answer. Though I tend to agree with answerer #1 that it seems like a strictly American observance.

Halloween is very American so it is extremely doubtful that they celebrate it in Cuba.

Carnival is probably the closest you'd get to it, and that's at a different time of year, perhaps Winter or Spring.

They might...Halloween is the day before All Saint's Day and it's very Christian. Cuba is Christian. I think it's called Dia de los Muertos. OR I could be completely wrong and dreamed it eons ago.
