an example i was told how back in the day, people baked bread by scratch and now bread machines were invented to make it more easier. But in the essay i have to write is comparing and contrasting the two items BUT i have to persuave my reader that the ancient item is better than the modern one.

well food is a nice choice, but the quality of food today is so good. I am sure that bread 200 years ago is not as good as it is today - forget the wonder bread, and focus on real bread.
lets see - architecture was better than. They were better at the pyramids in Egypt then that thing in Paris at the Louvre.
I am sure that sword manufacture was better than that cheap stuff from China

maps sure looked cooler than as well as book/manuscripts vs. those cheap pulp paperbacks. Do you think that those dune trilogy sci-fi books that you have in your basement are going to last for 50 more years.
