Girls scream about bugs for the same reason toddlers or young
children scream when they see turtles, or dogs or cats or anything that can move that is not familiar to them or out of place. If you're in a restaurant you do not expect to see a bug. You expect to see other people and food food food. The scientific
community says that we scream to stop something.

I laugh at the girls around me who scream, walk over and squish it. Usually with my shoe. Sometimes a tissue, and the girls around me scream when I bring it near just to tease them. Bugs don't scare me, but sometimes they're fun to squish. lol. Most scream because it's a typical reaction. A reflect. And some are just down - right scared of 'em. lol. But some are not at all.

Well, since I like to fish and hike I don't scream...although spiders do freak me out a little...and ticks make me feel creepy. Mostly I just squash them with the handiest flat object, or if its a friendly-type bug (lady-bug, for example) I catch and throw it outside.

Some girls scream to get the attention of others. Other girls probably just kill it. I would just kill it..no need to scream, the bug is probably more afraid of you!

Much to my chagrin I do both. It does give me the creepy crawlies to see those 'meaty' spiders. Since I do yell and squash when I'm alone, I know its not to show my feminine side or call attention to myself. If I can't get the bug on the first go round...I start acting like a hunter on safari, and I won't rest till its squashed.

You need a change of attitude. Insects are part of our planet. We need them to maintain a environmental balance. Most insects are harmless and will not hurt you unless provoked. That goes for the black widow. Bees will not sting if left alone.Ants, crabs and maggots are the vacuum cleaners of the earth. There are many others and other smaller forms of bacteria which keeps you alive.
Besides they are God's creature. Understand them and live in peace together.

If I am wearing shoes I try to step on it. If I am barefoot I look around quickly to find something hard to squash it with. I only scream sometimes because they just appear unexpectantly and they scare the crap out of me. LOL
