I've never heard of having a special license to tow a motorcycle trailer, or any other trailer at that. I've hauled mine in the back of a truck, and in trailers. Now some states might require a permit.
Best check with your Motor Vehicle Department where you obtain your drivers license, they would be the ones to ask.

I'm not aware of any special license, either to tow a trailer behind a car/pick-up or tow a trailer behind your bike.

Nope. just a DL. would help if you had a class A/B ..that way you'd learn to tow a trailer properly.
Calif requires your insurance to cover the trailer.. call your insurance company to find out if your auto insurance will cover it. some wont some will...
my husband is a frequent truck driver/trailer hauler...

No. Its good to attend a seminar, though.
Oh, sorry. I though you were a rider who wanted to pull a trailer behind a bike. You're the trailer queen guy.

no you do not need a special license.how ever you do have some extra laws to abide by such as in some states you must stay in the 2 far right hand lanes & have a mirror on the right hand side

No you don't need one but it would be good to drive around with a empty trailer, just to get familiar with it being back there.
