I am a big fan of the FXR. I ride a custom 91FXRS-SP. The handling is superior to any Softail and I like the geometry better than the Dyna.Set up right you can shred the canyons and still be reasonably comfortable on a long ride.I can't imagine riding another model, though I'm sure the day will come when I'll probably end up on a Road King like the rest of the old dudes.P.S. A lot of the H.A.s Like the FXR too,You're not going to tell them they're wrong are you.

It depends on what you like. But here are some suggestions to help:
a) If you need something that handles well...or rather, as well as a Harley can, you may want to try the Sportster seriers, the Dyna series or the V rod series. They are considered the better handling ones.
b) If you are extremely small build, then perhaps a sporster would be more suitable in terms of ride height and weight.
c) If you want a harley that looks more like a streetfighter and not like a harley, then get the V-rod series. If you want, wait for the 2007 model. That looks hot.
d) If you want Arnold Schwa.... terminator bike, go check out the FAT BOY.
e) If you want to ride with very high and tall handle bars, then i suggest you get the softtail and then remove and change the handlebars. The softtails series looks best with the tall bars called ape hangers.
f) if you want a harley then convert to a drag bike, get a sporster. They are more suited for that stuff.
the list is endless.
1) Go to the websites.
2) Check them out, looks and specs.
3) Go to your nearest dealer.
4) Sit on one.
5) fall in love with one.
6) Buy it.
:-)

Make sure to get the one that will complement all the Harley clothing and accessories you will have to buy to fit in. Took me quite a while to get my look right and you really need to budget in an extra $2000 to $3000 for the clothing, accessories, and bike trailer. I probably ride more than most Harley owners, clocking in some 900 miles or more a year, so my ride choice was very important. By getting the Road King, I bought instant acceptance. Don't listen to all those bashers talking about how Harleys are slow and break down a lot. They're only kind of slow.

All Harleys are the best. I prefer the FXD Dyna Superglide. You really can't go wrong with any Harley.

Ask yourself these questions first.....
Is it in my price range?
Experience on a motorcycle?
What riding style are you looking for?
Touring....any Electra Glides, Road Glides, and Road Kings work.
The look....and Harley has that appeal.
Town bikes....Dynas, sportsters, V-rod, softail

i like the buel because it is light weight and easy to drive for me anyway so but just test drive before you buy one to make sure it is right for you because everyone is different so good luck.
ps i was told by a local harley dealer that they everyone was having trouble with the 07 models so beware and ask questions if you are looking at that year model.

When it comes to Harleys... comfort isn't going to be a factor since its tires won't see anything but the trailer bed anyway.
Pick one that will complement the color of your truck so you'll be sure to get extra attention at the trailer-rallies.

It's really a matter of opinion. Are you looking for comfort, speed, or conformity?
