People say that you just need to be patient and that there will eventually be love in your life, but I've heard that for years. I'm a confident, healthy, intelligent man, who believes in romance and respect in a relationship. In the past 20 years, I have not found a woman who views those things as being important.
Is it time to give up and acknowledge that I'll be alone for the rest of my life?

Dear you should never give up, some times it takes a long time for the right one to come along.It will be when you least expect it. I am sure with your sincerity that you will find the love of your life. Just hang in there. Don't give up. It willlllllllllll happen. God bless you. You just need to have faith. It will happen.

That is something that happens when you least expect it. When you're not looking, it will happen. You can always tell God that you want someone in your life that you can love and will love you, someone you can build a life with and I know from experience that He will send someone to you. Have you ever heard the old saying "a watched pot never boils"? Well it's kinda like that, if you obsess about something, it will never come to pass. I will say a prayer for you, and I have faith that you will find your special someone real soon. God be with you

No, don't give up on it. But don't dwell on it either. Keep yourself busy with family, friends, hobbies and activities.
I do not have a significant other, either. I personally have resolved to myself that if I still meet someone, well and good. If not, then that's just how it's gonna be. But I will not let being single get in the way of me enjoying and living my life to the fullest.
A few days ago I was just pondering on these thoughts. I started enumerating and being thankful for every single blessing I receive in my life . . . then went on to say that to meet someone and have a beautiful family someday will just be an added bonus for me.

Never give up... just make peace with yourself that if it happens, great!!! and if it don't, it don't... I heard people say when you quit looking for something, you'll find... I don't have any sure cure to give you... or the exact place to go to find it... I know it can be hard living alone... especially when you feel you have so much to give to another person... you'll see alot of people together... it may make your heart sink when it reminds you that you are alone... but are they truely in love or just together???... I wish you luck in finding the special someone but... In the mean time smile.

Why give up? It sounds to me like you are fishing in the wrong pond. Maybe you should look for someone a little more traditional than you've been seeking. Romance and respect are values that don't fit well in the typical dating world of first date sex and instant gratification. If you have a religion, look at the people there in your church, who already have more traditional values.

You need to get out where people gather and talk,
Were a woman can talk to you not as a date but as a person.
Get to know them, than after a while you will know what ones like you then ask them out.
if you are just out just looking for love then you are in the shallow end of the pool. gather more freinds (not just guys) have fun with them. And when you are not looking you may find what you were looking for.
