The First Day of your last period.

That's always a guesstimate. It's rule of thumb. Most women will become pregnant 2 weeks after the 1st day of their period, in a textbook world. However, in a real world, many women will drop an egg or two later on in their cycle. Nowadays, doctors have portable ultrasound machines in their office, they would better figure out the baby's gestational age & due date more effectively. If the OB/GYN does not have an ultrasound in his office, when you do have an ultrasound (usually around 19-22 weeks in a normal pregnancy), the due date is then established more effectively.

My due date in keeping with my LMP exchange into January 8th, yet at my first ultrasound the surgeon replaced it to January twenty 8th. Then at my 20 week ultrasound the little one measured 4 or 5 days massive, yet they did not exchange my due date. So i don't think of the two due date is right, yet every person is going by utilising the later date. i'm making plans on asking my surgeon for an ultrasound at 38 weeks, to verify the little one's length. it somewhat is my third daughter, and the different 2 have been the two precipitated and over 9 lbs. So i'm in contact approximately her getting too massive because of the fact my due date is faulty. you may desire to objective getting yet another ultrasound to verify on your little one. If each and every little thing is okay, and the little one is an generic length then your due date does not be counted. you will have the little one whilst that's waiting.

From what i understand yes at first they do to set the origional due date but that date may change once they see the baby's developement. If you know the exact date of conception they may take this into consideration. Usually women know this because they did fertility treatments then the concepotion date is almost excat.

Yes, that is just the basic way for them to guesstimate how far along you are, since you can't really pin down your conception date, they also go by the size of the baby during ultrasounds, that is why you get different due dates through out your pregnancy!

that is what they base your original due date on. Once you have gone in for an ultrasound, they are able to better determine the due date. My original due date was November 18. After my sonogram it was moved to the 11. It turns out I didn't remember the exact date of my lmp.
