Do you mean a sign of breast growth? If you are talking about a young girl about to enter puberty, the first sign would be firm, tender lumps under the center of the areolae. The medical term is "thelarche," and the common term is "buds." You will know you have this when every little bump to the chest puts you in agony! You become very protective of that area at that time.
