depends on the defensive scheme that is being run by the defensive coordinator. in a 3/4 scheme it means 4 down linemen and 3 linebackers( 2 at each end and 1 in the middle. in a 4/3 scheme; 3 down linemen and 4 linebackers, 2 on each end and 2 in the middle. 5/2 etc... 1.dick butkus legendary hall of famer.(oldschool). 2. mike singletary hall of famer 1985 bears superbowl team. 3. current: brian urlacher.

Depends on what defense your playing(3-4, 4-3, dime, nickel etc.) Famous linebacker was Singletary. Currently it is Urlacher.
