Knight Rider used 1982 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am to portray KITT and KARR.
In 1982, the 3rd Generation Firebirds were introduced: Firebird, Firebird S/E, and Firebird Trans Am. The Firebird was the base model, equivalent to the Camaro Sport Coupe, the Firebird S/E was a higher option level which could be loaded with more options, than the Trans Am. The Trans Am was the highest performance level for the Firebird. The Trans Am received a turbo bulge hood styled loosely off the earlier turbo Trans Am.
