He sang and did what he loved, despite adults not liking his "unethical" lyrics. (Back then, they consider rock music to be evil... teenagers loved it though)

intake of painkillers which does eliminate the ability to think rationally and also does nothing to curb the appettie after prolonged usage ...which in the the long run cause congestive heart failure...or in my own my mind a broken heart from lost love.

He came from basic beginnings. Worked hard for what he earned and shared what he made with those around him he cared for. He didn't buy friends, he showered them with gifts. Seems silly by today's standards but I think it was honorable. He had his faults but I think his generosity is what finally took him out.
