I have windows xp. The internet explorer small icon on the bottom of the screen in the task bar suddenly disappeared. How do I get it back there? I still want it on the desktop also, as it was before. So the question is, how do I get the icons on the bar and to stay on the bar? Thanks, (new at computers)

Right click on your desktop and see what happens.

The task bar at the bottom of the screen is called quick launch bar. Right click on it and make sure it isn't lock, if so unchecked it to unlock it. If it is not there check the toolbars settings and check quick launch if it is not. Now if you want to and icons to quick launch click and drag the icon you want to move to the quick launch bar. Once you are done, right click and now lock the bar so it will not be changed.

Right click on the bar
go to "Toolbars"->select "Quick Launch"
then start dragging shortcuts into the quick launch bar
