I know he's dead, but the New York Post said Steinbrenner is looking at all possible options. Would a dead manager outperform a sentient being?

Perhaps, but the real question is: Would ghost Billy Martin manage to get fired from the Yankees as many times as living Billy Martin?

I think he could manage again. They would have to prop him up a little, but at least he could not charge up to an umpire like he used to. Of course, the way the Yankees performed in the post season, he could probably do a better job of getting the team in shape by example.

you had a great question untill you got to the " sentient being " part. However, I think a dead Billy Martin could do a better job than Torre could right now.

Well, I think Billy would be very successful today if he took George Steinbrenner's place.

Then things for the yanks could settle back to abnormal and they would start winning again.

He'd be good. He did lead The 1972 Tigers to a division title.

I think Billy could be propped up like Bernie in Weekend At Bernie's and he could do as good a job as Torre did in the playoffs! zing!!!

actually, casey stengel would be a better option. remember he already has many world titles as a yankee. also yogi could come back. he would have fun with the press. Press-so yogi will it be fun managing the yanks? Yogi-if we win managing the yanks will be fun and managing the yanks will be fun if we win:). 162 games of yogiisms. what a game!!!!

Yes, and I heard George was going to sign Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Joe Dimaggio, and Mickey Mantle to lifetime contracts.
