Cervical cancer caught in it's earliest stages is very treatable.. With a 5 year survival rate in the high 90%'s and a 10 year survival rate in the low 90%'s...

Progress is being made in the field of treatment all the time... Cervical cancer caught early isn't automatically a death sentence .. Many times it's a bump on the road....

Treatments include Coning( a freezing and scrapping of the tissue on the cervix to remove/kill the cancerous cells) Radiation Therapy (systematic irradiation of the cancer to kill it).Chemotherapy.(Introduction of chemicals designed to combat and kill the cancerous cells) Removal of the cervix, and uterus... Etc... A treatment plan will be formulated if a cancer is found, you and your Dr. should communicate and find a treatment plan that best works for you...

Don't neglect your spiritual and mental health while dealing with your physical health... Get support from people of your faith (Whatever faith that may be) and be sure to get a referral to a counselor as you will have feelings of anger, sadness, regret, elation, etc. A counselor can help you sort out these perfectly natural feelings and work through them as you are being treated...

Yes there is treatment. Its not always fatal. generally they find it quickly. In some cases precancerus cells can be 'shaved' off the cervix and it can still function normally. In other cases parts or the whole cervix, and reproductive organs must be removed.
