Honestly, now a days its hard to know who you really can trust. Everyone lies to you in one way or another right ( a lie is a lie no matter how small the lie is).

A lie is a lie no matter how small the lie is. In these days, most people feel that they can lie and get away with anything. What people don't realize is that once you are caught, it stays with you the rest of your life, and you will never be trusted again. No matter how hard it is people should be honest, even if it hurts. Integrity is something that takes a lifetime to achieve, but a second to lose forever.

So to answer your question. You can trust someone when they give you a reason to, and prove to you that they are honest. If you hold people accountable for being honest with you, you will eventually discover the people that are honest, and weed out those who aren't. Trust yourself and when you really can trust someone, you will know - it’s a feeling. The mistake most people make is falling for the fast line and easy promises. Those that are truly honest will have no problem earning your trust.

Myself I have had trouble with this, I am too trusting, I trust someone until they give me a reason not to. This has caused me some terrible experiences from being, robbed, carnapped, raped, beaten and I am finding, not everyone is honest like I consider myself to be. Watch that person for a while, as a victim of child sexual abuse, when I had my daughter at 30, I watched my husband(X) like a hawk, unbeknownst to him, I got my answer wehen he never inappropriately touched her in her bathing suit area, I told him after 2 years, I had just started to trust him, he was apppalled! ITs called protectioning your child, but I should have kept my mouth shut and not said anything to him, it was painful for him, however, I loved her, she was MY priority. I have learned to listen and consider what they are saying about others. If they speak really bitter about an X , they will speak bitter about you. This depends on the situation, really. A white lie? Well, I have been home but did not feel like talking on the phone, so didnt answer, when asked I said"oh, yes, I do see on caller ID where you called," when in essence, just pick up the phone, kindly teoll the person you have an interest in talking to them just not at that particular time. Sometimes, things are bestter left unsaid(thats a lie of omission)but I try to spare hurting others feelings. So it depends on the situation and circumstances around it.l Dig deeper.

a lie is a lie no matter what. people say they lie to you to protect you from getting hurt while instead of telling you the truth they lie and that hurts more than the truth sometimes. You just have to give people the benefit of the doubt and if they burn you more than once, i'd considar moving on from those people.

HERE IS A FACT 88% OF THE TIME PEOPLE LIE ABOUT THEIR TRUE EMOTION'S BECAUSE THEY WORRY ABOUT HOW PEOPLE WILL THINK OF THEM. A LIE IS A COVER UP BECAUSE OF SELF CONCIOUS REASON'S. LET TRUST COME FROM WHAT YOU KNOW OF THAT PERSON DEEP DOWN INSIDE. EVEN IF SOMEONE LIES, IF YOU HAVE LOVE OR CARE ABOUT THAT PERSON YOU WILL ALWAY'S BE ABLE TO FORGIVE AND FORGET.

Me personally, I give everyone a chance-a benefit of the doubt. Once they do me wrong, it's over. It's like a test...can they keep things to themselves? Do they lie to you? Do they seem to care about you? That kind of thing. I have just a handful of close friends and it's because people have failed my tests.

It's not an instant thing. They have to earn your trust, and that always comes with taking chances.
I say : "If they burn me once, shame on them". "If they burn me twice, shame on ME". And that's only if I give them a second chance.
But if you don't take chances, then you'll never know what kind of person they are.
But I wouldn't be on the defensive all the time just waiting to see if they are going to lie to me, because then you miss seeing who they really are.

You look them strait in the eyes and you look for grins and other things that you mite think are things that lead to a lie.

Trust is something that has to be gained, even if it is someone who you are just getting to know. And , that is all there is to it.
You can't judge a book by it's cover.
