That's a tough one. Depression isn't really something you can control with your will, unless it's caused physically. You should get to the doctor and get blood tests to start with. It could be as simple as low blood sugar or low iron. If it's nothing physical, then you could look into antidepressants, depending on your age. Things that seem to help but don't really in the long run are alcohol and drugs and sex. Exercise on a regular basis, not just at the time when you feel depressed, helps too. Sorry you are suffering....been there.

First of all try to identify with the source of your depression. Have you perhaps lost a loved one ot death or divorce. Look back at siblings and cousins, other family members. If there is a history of depression, and you havent lost someone you love, to death , divorce, a child leaving home for the first time and this has been an ongoing depression uissue and perhaps a history of depression, talk to your Doctor, an ani-depressant may be juust what you need temporarily or it could be long term, if you have a long history of depression and your family doesw as well. If none of these pertain to you, get out, take walks, get a hobbie, make yourself, by taking baby -steps do something. Also, look at the amount of hours you sleep. Laying in bed for hours and not talking to friends with the shades pulled will make anyohne down and depressed, Thanks, AKA: princess willrich, msw medical social work

All kinds of things cause depression. It could be a relationship, genetic, bad events in life, and even aspartame in diet sodas. It is a proven fact it causes depression so if you drink diet soda, you should stop. You just need to try and look at the positive side of things, find little things that make you happy like flowers or watching a sunset with someone a friend, boyfriend, husband anyone. Just try and see the good side of life and remember it could always be worse.
